Nano Alumina Powder
Wear-resistant and hardened
Thanks to its corundum (α-Al₂O₃) structure, KOSNANO’s nano-alumina boasts a Mohs hardness of 9—just below diamond and silicon carbide. At the same dosage, it can extend a coating’s wear life by 30–50% compared to regular micron alumina, and boost surface hardness from 2H to 4H–5H.
When evenly dispersed in coatings, resins, or metal matrices, these nano-particles act like thousands of micro-ceramic shields, significantly increasing scratch and wear resistance. With a huge surface area (>50 m²/g) and highly reactive surface atoms, they interact strongly with polymer chains, locking them in place and making the entire material more rigid and tough.
In coatings and inks, KOSNANO nano-alumina creates a smooth, continuous protective layer, helping reduce direct contact between the surface and any damaging particles.
Our surface-modified, low-dust formula ensures the particles disperse quickly and evenly in both water-based and solvent-based systems. The primary particle size is tightly controlled at 20–50 nm, giving you maximum performance with minimal effort.

Just by adding 1–5% nano-alumina powder into epoxy resin, you can dramatically boost its performance. We’re talking about up to 130% improvement in wear resistance and around 50% better adhesion strength compared to the same resin without any filler.
How does it work? These ultra-fine particles are evenly dispersed in the resin and become part of the cured 3D network. Thanks to their high surface energy, they “lock in” like tiny anchors, reinforcing the internal structure and helping the resin resist cracking or breaking under stress.
And it’s not just epoxy—nano-alumina also upgrades paint. When added to nano-coatings, it significantly boosts scratch resistance. Whether it’s car washes, flying gravel, harsh UV rays, or chemical exposure—your coatings will hold their shine and integrity for much longer.
Suggested dosage: 2–5%, but you can fine-tune the amount depending on your specific system and application.
