Alumina Polishing Powder Supplier for Precision Lapping
Alumina Polishing Powder Manufacturer in China
For ceramic, sapphire, copper, metallographic, and precision polishing applications. Stable particle size distribution, high purity, and custom grades for industrial polishing performance.
Alumina is widely used as an excellent ceramic polishing agent due to its outstanding hardness, excellent chemical stability and controllable cost. Mainly because the Mohs hardness of alumina is as high as 9, which is much higher than the Mohs hardness of most ceramic materials, which is 7-8. Its particles are mostly multi-angular and have sharp cutting edges, which is one of the reasons for its high cutting efficiency. Secondly, aluminum polish does not react with water, oil or most chemical solvents, and has very good chemical stability. It has a high melting point (about 2050°C), and will not soften or decompose under the local high temperature generated during the polishing process, and can always maintain its hardness and cutting performance. KOSNANO not only provides aluminum polish, but also provides colloidal silica. The latter two can obtain atomic-level smooth surfaces through a milder way, meeting the needs of different scenarios of customers, and can provide customized services.

What Makes This Grade Different
Why 0.3–0.6 Micron Matters
In precision polishing, particle size is not just a number — it directly affects cutting rate, surface finish (Ra), and defect risk.
Our 0.3–0.6 μm alumina polishing powder is engineered to provide a balanced performance:
Efficient material removal without aggressive scratching
Stable and repeatable polishing results across batches
Suitable for fine finishing before ultra-fine polishing stages
What factors affect ceramic polishing?
The ceramic material itself, polishing process parameters, polishing agent characteristics and environment are important factors affecting ceramic polishing. When choosing ceramic polishing materials, we need to pay attention to the hardness and toughness of the material. The higher the hardness of the ceramic (such as alumina, silicon carbide), the more difficult it is to polish, and harder abrasives (such as diamond) and longer polishing time are required. In addition, We need to pay attention to the grain size and uniformity of the material, the type and fineness of the abrasive, the concentration and pH value of the polishing liquid. During the processing, pressure, rotational speed, polishing time and polishing equipment will also affect the final effect of ceramic polishing

Typical Applications
KOSNANO alumina polishing powder (0.3–0.6 μm) is widely used in:
Ceramic lapping (technical ceramics, alumina ceramics, zirconia ceramics)
Sapphire polishing (pre-polish and fine polish stage)
Optical glass finishing (selected processes)
Metallographic specimen polishing
Precision surface preparation before coating or bonding
Substrate polishing (engineering ceramics, electronic ceramics)
